Energy Savings

Commercial buildings consume 40% of the energy generated in the U.S. 50% of that energy cost is dedicated to filtering and cleaning the air.

Reduced Pressure Drop

Electrostatic filtration typically has lower pressure drop compared to conventional, passive filtration. A lower pressure drop means less resistance to airflow, reducing the energy required to push air through the filtration system. This can result in energy savings in HVAC systems, where the fan has to work less to maintain airflow rates.

Extended Filter Life

Electrostatic filtration has longer lifespan compared to conventional filters because they do not rely solely on mechanical filtration. Instead, they use a continous electrostatic charge to attract and capture particles. This longer lifespan reduces the frequency of filter replacements, saving both energy and maintenance costs associated with replacing filters frequently.

Improved HVAC System Efficiency

By effectively capturing particles from the air, electrostatic filters help keep HVAC system components clean. Clean HVAC systems operate more efficiently because they don’t have to work as hard to maintain desired temperature and airflow levels. This improved efficiency translates to energy savings over time.

Lower Energy Consumption

With electrostatic filtration, HVAC systems can operate more efficiently, leading to reduced energy consumption. This is particularly beneficial in commercial and industrial settings where HVAC systems are significant energy consumers. By using electrostatic filters, businesses can lower their energy bills and reduce their overall environmental footprint.

Better Indoor Air Quality

Electrostatic filters can trap smaller particles compared to conventional filters, resulting in better indoor air quality. Improved indoor air quality can lead to increased occupant comfort and productivity, as well as potential health benefits. Additionally, better indoor air quality may reduce the need for additional ventilation or air purification measures, further contributing to energy savings.

Prioritizing Clean Air

Overall, prioritizing clean air in buildings and transit is essential for promoting health, safety, productivity, and overall quality of life for occupants and users. Investing in effective ventilation, filtration, and maintenance systems is crucial for achieving and maintaining high indoor air quality standards.

Our Mission

Our mission is to better people’s health and wellbeing inside structures by improving indoor air quality.

Our Philosophy

Improving IAQ has tangible benefits for your workforce, consumers, and other visitors to your facility. Reducing transmission risk, improving productivity, and helping to ensure a safe environment are all positively impacted by investing in IAQ improvements. An effective, environmentally sustainable IAQ strategy that prioritizes health and wellbeing can be executed without creating exorbitant ongoing operational costs and energy penalties.

Increasing Effective Ventilation

Improving indoor air quality can be more challenging than it sounds. Existing structures are constrained by their ventilation systems which limits the opportunity to incorporate more outside air. New structures can be designed for increased ventilation, but this often results in more energy use and thus higher operating costs and negative impacts to the environment. Even so, we often assume the air outside is cleaner than the air inside, which may not be the case. That’s why we emphasize “effective” ventilation which can be achieved through methods beyond outside air. For all these reasons, it makes sense to consult with Lumin-Air when trying to achieve an increase in effective ventilation.

Improving Filtration

More air is not the answer especially if it’s not being cleaned and filtered. Cleaner air means reducing indoor air particles, unwanted Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), microbes and infectious aerosols. These can be safely removed without using or creating harmful byproducts like ozone, ions, hydroxyl radicals, and hydrogen peroxide gas and without placing more burden on building maintenance personnel. Our high efficiency filtration solutions are a safe, effective, low-cost, and recommended strategy for cleaner air.
